Priorities and Goals
Budget
The City is recovering from a structural deficit that required immediate and thoughtful attention. I continue to work to ensure our City’s resources are spent responsibly while exploring new revenue sources to support the City going forward. I encourage community collaborations and seeking grant funding to help accomplish projects that would otherwise not be funded for timely completion.
Economic
Development
I support small businesses and the essential role they play in making Auburn a unique and charming city. I work to support economic development and creative solutions to increasing tourism in a sustainable manner to support our City and bring vibrancy to our commercial core and surrounding businesses. I serve on the Economic Development Commission and support initiatives such as the new Entertainment Zones and projects with Explore Auburn to highlight Auburn’s best events and businesses.
Safety
I work with the police and fire departments to ensure they have the necessary resources and staffing to protect our City. I share and support alternative revenue sources to fund public safety.
Quality of Life
Auburn is an incredible place to live! The access to nature, strong community, arts and culture, and fantastic food and beverage scene are just a few things that support our quality of life. I will work to keep Auburn an amazing and affordable place to live, work, play, and welcome visitors year-round. I want to ensure Auburn is a community people of all ages and backgrounds can feel comfortable and welcome living, working, and visiting.
Active Lifestyles
I work to bring safe, accessible, and connected transportation alternatives to the City. I support active transportation (walking, biking, rolling) and will work to improve bike and pedestrian safety to meet the needs of all users. I am proud of the completed Active Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Safety Plan completed during my first term. I will work to integrate the City with our incredible natural resources in a thoughtful and sustainable manner.
